How to Remove the ‘Your Ad’s’ Section from the Facebook Sidebar

I know I normally post WordPress / Web Developer related stuff but this really frustrated me and I couldn’t find a solution, so I solved it myself.

If you’ve ever run an ad campaign on Facebook, you’ve probably noticed this little information box in your right sidebar:

Information! Yeah!

The problem is, once the campaign’s over, that box tends to stick around for a while. Personally, I found it extremely annoying and felt it was just there to subtly persuade me into running another campaign.

So if you want to hide it, here’s the solution:

  1. If you haven’t already, install the amazing AdBlock.
  2. Go to the AdBlock Options (just look for a second, you should find it somewhere).
  3. Under the Customize tab, there will be a link for ‘Hide a section of a webpage’. Enter the domain facebook.com and for the CSS to match, enter the following:

  4. Click Block It!

Sort of easy, yeah? Alternatively you could just right click the area and then select AdBlock > Block this Ad, but this seems more effective.
